Sultan 2. Abd\u00fclhamid\u2019in tahta \u00e7\u0131k\u0131\u015f\u0131n\u0131n 25. y\u0131l\u0131 an\u0131s\u0131na yapt\u0131r\u0131lan \u0130zmit Saat Kulesi, zamanla y\u0131pranarak eski ihti\u015fam\u0131n\u0131 kaybetmi\u015fti. Bunun \u00fczerine harekete ge\u00e7en B\u00fcy\u00fck\u015fehir Belediyesi, ba\u015flatt\u0131\u011f\u0131 restorasyon \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131yla kulenin i\u00e7 ve d\u0131\u015f y\u00fczeyini asl\u0131na uygun \u015fekilde yeniledi. Mermer y\u00fczeyleri, ta\u015flar\u0131, motifleri ve tavan\u0131 elden ge\u00e7irilen tarihi yap\u0131, yap\u0131lan \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131n ard\u0131ndan yeniden g\u00f6z al\u0131c\u0131 bir g\u00f6r\u00fcn\u00fcme kavu\u015ftu.<\/p>\n

Restorasyon kapsam\u0131nda Saat Kulesi\u2019nin kur\u015fun kapl\u0131 tavan\u0131 tamamen yenilendi. Me\u015fe a\u011fac\u0131ndan yap\u0131lan karkas sistem de\u011fi\u015ftirildi, i\u00e7 duvarlardaki s\u0131valar kaz\u0131narak horasan s\u0131va ile yeniden uyguland\u0131. Saatin \u00e7an\u0131 orijinal hali korunarak muhafaza edilirken, kadranlar\u0131 ise tamamen yenilendi. Ah\u015fap merdivenler ve pencereler de bak\u0131mdan ge\u00e7irildi.<\/p>\n

Kentin k\u00fclt\u00fcrel miraslar\u0131ndan biri olan tarihi yap\u0131da mermer y\u00fczeyleri kumlama y\u00f6ntemiyle temizleyen ekipler, kulenin kap\u0131s\u0131n\u0131 da yeniledi. Y\u0131ld\u0131r\u0131m \u00e7arpmalar\u0131na kar\u015f\u0131 koruma sa\u011flayan paratoner sistemi ile elektrik altyap\u0131s\u0131 da g\u00fc\u00e7lendirildi. B\u00f6ylece kule hem estetik hem de teknik a\u00e7\u0131dan daha g\u00fcvenli hale getirildi.<\/p>\n

Zamanla dayan\u0131kl\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 yitiren yap\u0131n\u0131n g\u00fc\u00e7lendirilmesi amac\u0131yla ta\u015f ve tu\u011fla aras\u0131ndaki bo\u015fluklar 2 ton enjeksiyon s\u0131va ile dolduruldu. Saat Kulesi\u2019nin d\u0131\u015f cephesinde zamanla d\u00f6k\u00fclen ve \u00f6zg\u00fcn g\u00f6r\u00fcn\u00fcm\u00fcn\u00fc kaybeden motifler de yenilendi. Cephede olu\u015fan kir ve yosunlar \u00f6zel ila\u00e7l\u0131 y\u00f6ntemlerle temizlendi. Kulenin korkuluklar\u0131 s\u00f6k\u00fclerek kumlama y\u00f6ntemiyle temizlendi, boyand\u0131 ve yeniden yerine monte edildi.<\/p>\n

Osmanl\u0131 d\u00f6neminden g\u00fcn\u00fcm\u00fcze ula\u015fan \u00f6zg\u00fcn motiflerin tamam\u0131 taraklama y\u00f6ntemiyle temizlenerek \u015feffaf cila ile kapland\u0131. Bu uygulama sayesinde ta\u015f y\u00fczeyin su emmesi engellenerek yap\u0131n\u0131n d\u0131\u015f etkenlere kar\u015f\u0131 dayan\u0131kl\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131 art\u0131r\u0131ld\u0131. Ayr\u0131ca ta\u015f derzleri de yenilenerek cephe b\u00fct\u00fcnl\u00fc\u011f\u00fc g\u00fc\u00e7lendirildi.<\/p>\n
